Wedding Update #2

Good morning my friends!

I have literally been swamped this past week more like month but still. If you can’t tell I am really struggling with college, blogging, and wedding planning and right now blogging is coming in last place. Which makes me really sad because I have so many ideas and plans but I don’t have the time or resources to do it. But this post isn’t about my life… it is about WEDDING PLANNING!!

Y’all I still can’t believe that I am lucky enough to marry my best friend, it actually still blows my mind every day.

I told y’all in my insta story.. a while ago… that we have made some pretty big decision revolving the wedding. Well we actually made a lot of awesome decisions.

So if you remember (or if I even told you) we had planned on this one place that would do everything from set up and take down to the cakes and catering. Because (stupid me) I had planned on an outside ceremony and reception..

keep in mind that I had planned our wedding for February (10th if you want to be exact ;)). So imagine an outside wedding on February 10th.. HELL. I went to a wedding a couple of weekends ago. It just so happened that a little cold front came though Georgia. I was only a little cold. Then I realized I was planning my wedding smack dead in the middle of winter and the coldest it get in Georgia is usually in February. So I admitted that I was wrong (and everyone else was right)  and that we should not have an outside ANYTHING for our wedding.

So that completely changed our whole plan… DRUM ROLL PLEASE

Ok our new and improved plan. We are going to have the ceremony at the church Andrew and I are both members of. This was something that I had been almost completely against in the beginning of this wedding planning process. But we are having an estimated 200 people attend our wedding. There is nowhere that will hold that many people for both a ceremony and reception in two different location and not cost both arms and legs.

But I am now in love with the idea. My mom and I have come up with so many ideas to decorate the church. We want to have an arbor that we will get married in front of, and just a ton of other ideas.

Now for the reception we decided on a cute little farm out in Phenix City, Al. This was actually the first venue we visited and both of us just fell in love with it. We took my mom back to look around a few weeks later and she loved it to… just the problem of no ceremony space inside. Well with the ceremony at the church that problem was solved.

We are officially book at the Farm and the church (aka my dad) notified. I feel so much more relieved having that done.

Now that we have all of the venues locked down we got to order invitation. Ya’ll… I was actually shook at the price of quality invitations. Totally not expecting it. I didn’t really know how much a wedding would cost and all of the expenses associated with it.

But on Thanksgiving day there was a promotion for Shutterfly for 50% off, so you know we hopped on that. Mom and I were up so late making sure the wording was right and that it was perfect. It should be coming in sometime next week. I am so excited to see them and get them out to people!

Since it is such a short time till the wedding there was no need for save the dates. So that was one thing we were able to cross the list.

I have a photographer, my best friend as you know is a crazy talented photographer but she is in the wedding. Brittany had free reign on the photographer. I am so excited and can’t wait to meet her and plan out the day.

We have found a possible caterer, we were supposed to have a tasting but it had to get moved. So I am hoping that we can do it this upcoming weekend and get that all booked.

Oh wow, putting it last like it isn’t a big deal, but I got my dress last week!

We went to Uptown Gowns in Columbus, and I am completely speechless by how wonderful they were. Everything about my experience there was perfect. If you know anyone or if you are getting married make sure you make an appointment there. There isn’t really enough wonderful things to say about them! I can’t wait for y’all to see it… and of course Andrew to see it!

I really think that is about all of the update I have. It has been such a busy couple of weeks. My mom, Andrew, and I feel so much better now that we have so much done. There are just a couple of other things I need and want to do. But all of the big stuff is thankfully taken care of.

I know this was a really long post and if you got here props for you!

But I do hope you enjoyed it. It might be a couple more weeks until another update is ready.
